Vehicles from VAMSA  are sold to our customer without TAX.

Vehicles in  Mexico are subject to a VAT called  Impuesto al Valor Agregado (IVA). IVA is 16% and must be paid when purchasing vehicles.

Goods exported including motor vehicles are IVA exempt so the exporter is entitled to an IVA Refund. Like many things in Mexico (and in life) this is easier said than done. It is an exacting and painful process.

VAMSA has a special status with the Mexican Goverment as an approved Exporter and has  Empresas de Comercio Exterior (ECEX) and Empresas Altamente Exportadoras (ALTEX)  status.  What this all means is that we, in  theory,  get our IVA Refund in weeks rather than months or years.
